Senator Paul on the SOTU

25 Jan

“I’m sorry.”

That would have been the most fitting start for President Obama’s last State of the Union address tonight.

Sorry for what he’s done to our national debt.  Sorry for what he’s done to American healthcare for his failing ObamaCare scheme.  Sorry for his ham-handed foreign policy, which has left America less safe.  Sorry for hampering jobgrowth with higher taxes and draconian regulations, which cost our economy $2 TRILLION a year.

Bruce, I recorded a brief video in response to President Obama’s address.

Bruce, of course, if we’re honest with ourselves, some members of my own Republican Party have had a big hand in allowing these failures to continue.  Some running for President now are even pledging to continue parts of the Obama agenda.

We can’t afford this.

We need a President who will balance the federal budget.

We need a President who will fight to uphold the entire Bill of Rights, including the Fourth Amendment.

We need a President who will fight for term limits for Congress.

We need a President who will repeal the entire tax code and replace it with a fair and flat tax for all Americans.

We need a President who will keep our country out of nation-building while ensuring America remains strong, safe and secure.

We need to Audit the Fed, defend our border and appoint judges who will roll back years of terrible decisions.

This is why I’m running for the President and why I’m taking my message of liberty to Iowa and New Hampshire this week.

And ithe media is doing whatever they can to black me out despite my campaign’s jaw-dropping grassroots strength. Don’t let them get away with it.

Please make your most generous contribution during this most critical time.

And don’t forget to send this email to at least three of your friends right away!

In liberty,
Rand Paul
