More Beef on the BBQ – The Summer’s Top 12 Hottest Libertarian Men – Objectifying Some Objectivists

4 Jul
(Unfortunately, the annual Libertarian beachwear edition of this post is only available behind our paywall to supporting subscribers.)

For those of you annoyed by these types of lists I can only tell you that some people actually beg to be put on them.  For those who think the objectification of the boys is too gay (though most of the winners below are not), well yes it is, but we will do a new list of ladies eventually, so keep your pants on.

1. Scott Eastwood

Just as Clint Eastwood took the #1 spot in last year’s list of 29 hot Libertarian men, his son Scott gets it this time.  Though it’s not clear how much time he spends reading Hayek or Nozick between gigs, he did tell Huffington Post that his politics mirror his dad’s libertarianism.

2. Peter Leeson

Dr. Leeson is the author of the award winning economic history of piracy, The Invisible Hook.

3. Daniel Contreras Nazario

Originally from Latin America, educated at the Stockholm School of Economics, Daniel works at the Institute for Humane Studies.

4. Todd Wynn

Wynn, the originator of feral libertarianism, is a DC lobbyist by day, a father, husband, and gardener evenings, and a hiker, camper and general outdoorsman on weekends.

5. Tennyson McCalla

Photographer and chronicler of PorcFest, Tennyson lives in New York City and is an aspiring actor.

6. Baron Bond

Baron Bond is an executive of Foundation Group, a real estate
management, investment, and development company
based in Baltimore. His day-to-day focus consists of asset management responsibilities for a portfolio of multifamily communities, retail commercial centers, and land holdings in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Puerto Rico.
Mr. Bond’s real estate development experience began in a construction trailer in Florida where he worked as a project manager for one of the nation’s largest home builders. Before the work boots got very dirty, he reverted to a more white collar environment and role within an entrepreneurial Florida company that focuses on large-scale, mixed-use development projects along the eastern seaboard.
Prior to working in real estate development, Mr. Bond practiced corporate and real estate law in New York City at the premier law firms of White & Case and Skadden, Arps.
Mr. Bond received his undergraduate degree in business in 1994 from Washington University in St. Louis where he was class valedictorian. He attended Duke University and Columbia University Law Schools, earning his J.D. in 1997 from Duke. He also received a Master’s degree in real estate development and investment from New York University in 2000.
Mr. Bond enjoys weight training, classic rock and electronica music, foreign travel, motorcycling, science fiction, exotic cars, port wine and tobacco pipes. His interests of a more academic nature include moral philosophy and constitutional law. He is a Trustee of the Reason Foundation, and on the boards of the Atlas Society and the Cato Institute.   Mr. Bond lives in Maryland with his wife and three children.

7. Joshua Slayback

Slayback is a philosophy student and business development manager at Praxis

8. Alex Epstein

As anyone who has ever read an Ayn Rand novel knows, beneath the icy facade Objectivists are just molten lava.  Epstein brings his philosophy background to Randian topoi like industrial progress to sweep away cant and produce remarkable rare (albeit commonsensical) clarity. His book is The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels.

9. Mike Riggs

Mike Riggs is a former reason writer who campaigns for criminal justice reform with Families Against Mandatory Minimums,  He is noted for being well manicured.

10. James Anderson

A senior development associate at the Foundation for Economic Education, something about his cute but quirky face always makes me want to pinch him repeatedly.

11. Brandon de Hoyas

De Hoyas works in radio in Houston when not running for office as a Libertarian.

12. Derek J. Freeman

Derek runs Flaming Freedom, a gay, weekly libertarian podcast.

Happy Hanukkah Advent Calendar – Our 10 Hottest Libertarian Jews

30 Dec
(Our list is for humor – and appreciation – and includes atheists, agnostics, half-Jews, and anyone else we wanted to include, who is arguably Jewish.  We aren’t promising not to do a list of hot libertarian clergy for Easter.  I’m also including Objectivists etc. because a square is a rectangle even if a rectangle isn’t always a square.  So…get your dreidels out for a game of spin the dreidel…

ליברטי .)

We have 8 days of Hanukkah…so we will be adding a hot Jew every day (before sunset), like an Advent calendar.  Nominate the remaining hot libertarian Jews.  And please, current MOTs, no Ayn Rand, Jane Jacobs, Murray Rothbard, Milton Friedman.  Also feel free to nominate people for the Hanukkah 5776 list.

TV’s Andy Levy

Well, warm and cuddly anyway.  Although we found this glamour shot.  Mr. Levy is known for his cats, his dry wit on the FoxNew’s show RedEye, and his sweet little cheeks.  (He has a nice punim too.)

Brittany Leigh Sligar

Ms. Sligar, an undergraduate, blogs at Natural Folk and declares on twitterI want to abolish the government. Yay for Anarcho-Capitalism. Long live free markets!”

Jim Epstein

Mr. Epstein is a writer and video producer at reason magazine.

Angela Keaton

Sometime member of the Libertarian National Committee, Ms. Keaton works at  If you become her pen pal she will supply you with very amusing articles and humor, often about Taylor Swift or liberty movement celebrities.

Alan Gura

Mr. Gura is the chief 2nd Amendment advocate in American courts in the Heller decision and other cases.  I’d go to a shooting range with him anytime.

Michelle Minton

Newlywed Ms. Minton runs Human Achievement Happy Hour and writes for the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

Alex Epstein

A philosophy student by training, Epstein is the author of the new book,  The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels and a website on the same subject.

Ashley Rae Goldenberg

A student at George Mason University, Ms. Goldenberg wrote an admirable short defense of Israel and is a contributing editor for Liberty Without Apologies. Follow her on Twitter @Communism_Kills.

Jeremy Sapienza

Sapienza (left) is the proprietor of Cafe La Mejor in Brooklyn and an urban gardener.  Amazingly, even though a Jew and a libertarian, he has been known to blog.

Daria Kafler

Ms. Kafler is a member of Tel Aviv University Students for Liberty
