Local DC Ron Paul activist Nancy Sellers passes.
Nancy knew the Pauls (Ron and Carol) from Texas. She hosted a Ron Paul event on her roof deck at 801 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Penn Quarter (where Geraldine Ferraro, Robert Novak, and Daniel Patrick Moynihan were her neighbors). From 2008-2010 she was a regular attendee at Ron Paul events and occasionally Reason magazine events. She was a lovely person, who was one of two local activists who joined me for drinks at a recent “big” birthday, and who watched my cat once when I went away on vacation.
She usually told people very labyrinthine, somewhat off-putting stories about her battles with the medical industry in seeking treatment for unusual and misdiagnosed disorders. It is unclear if she was seeking adequate treatment as well for her actual cancer. But she was a good soul.

Nancy Burke Sellers of Washington D.C. died of cancer at her residence on Monday, July 25, 2011. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1966, and graduated from the University of Houston in 1972. Formerly married to Monty Sellers of Plano, Texas; daughter of the late James and late Kathleen Burke; loving mother of Rebecca Sellers Vandall and her husband, Jeffrey Vandall, both of Arlington, Virginia; devoted grandmother of William and Benjamin Vandall; cherished sister of Patrick Burke and Cynthia Burke of Houston, Texas. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2011, at Arlington Funeral Home, 3901 North Fairfax Drive, Arlington, Virginia.
