McDermott for saying something that almost never gets said: Checking to see if a political organization really is a “charitable organization” as required by law under 501(c) is a desirable thing. Raw political organizations should not be getting such tax status. (It should also be noted that the only organization ultimately denied such status was a liberal group.)
