Join R Street’s Lori Sanders for a panel on the future of conservatism
WASHINGTON (Sept. 6, 2013) — Join R Street Policy Analyst Lori Sanders and other prominent panelists Sept. 24 for a roundtable discussion of “The Future of Conservatism,” hosted by Future 500, a non-profit organization that focuses on market-based solutions to break through corporate and legislative gridlock.
The discussion — which will serve as the second half of Future 500’s “Future of Ideas” series at the National Press Club — will focus on what it means to be a young conservative and how conservative leaders can appeal to a new generation, including expanding beyond the movement’s white, suburban and rural base.
Moderated by Nick Sorrentino, Future 500’s director of political outreach, the panel will include Sanders; Norman Singleton, vice president for policy at The Campaign for Liberty; and Brittany Morrett of LIBRE.
The first half of the event will kick off with a panel on what it means to be a conservative today, moderated by thought leader Stephen Jordan and featuring Future 500 CEO Bill Shireman; Daniel McCarthy, editor of The American Conservative; Charlie Hurt, columnist for The New York Post; and Crystal Wright, editor of ConservativeBlackChick.com.
