Free Films in NoMa

26 May

Film-goers: Summer has arrived! Don’t miss the debut of NoMa Summer Screen Wednesday, May 22 for a screening of Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade. This week kicks off 13 weeks of OUTLAW HERO films! Popped! Republic, Red Hook Lobster Truck, The Big Cheese, and Orange Cow food trucks will be parked on-site tomorrow to serve up some culinary delights. Or, pack a picnic and chow down on a blanket with your friends, family, and neighbors. Now in its sixth year, this award-winning outdoor film series will feature classic American westerns, space invasion thrillers, ‘80s comedies, and more.

NoMa Summer Screen is a free, outdoor film series in NoMa, Washington, D.C.’s fastest growing neighborhood. Every Wednesday from May 22 to August 21, hundreds of neighbors will gather at 7 p.m. for music, giveaways, food trucks, picnicking, and fun for the whole family. Films start at dark. All movies are screened with subtitles. The event takes place at the Loree Grand Field at Second and L Streets, NE, hosted by Toll Brothers Apartment Living. Coolers, children and friendly (leashed) dogs are welcome. If you are a music aficionado interested in DJ-ing at NoMa Summer Screen before the start of the movie, please email Ali Newman, Marketing & Events Associate, at anewman@nomabid.org with your top 10 song choices. Selected DJs will create a sixty-minute playlist in exchange for some sweet NoMa swag and a special shout-out before the movie.
